We've had black memebers of the presidential cabinet... Ron Brown was the secretary of Commerce for Clinton, Colin Powell was the National security advisor and Chairman of the Joint Cheifs of Staff for Bush I and Secretary of State for Bush II, Condoleeza Rice was NSA and Secretary of State for Bush II.... I don't know about you, but I'd feel infinitely more comfortable with any of those peolpe mentioned being president than the guy we currently have... The Republican party wants to nominate Rice for the ticket in 2008 but she doesn't want it. 10 years ago, they wanted Powell to unseat Clinton, but he didn't want it.
I don't t hink most people care about superficial traits like skin color. Just a few Bozo's... but that doesn't equal a revolution.

No. If Condi Rice runs she would lose to Hillary Clinton. On the Dem side Barack Obama could run and win. He eke out a narrow victory against a white male GOPer but would mop the floor with Condi.
The people willing to take up arms really are limited to a few. Case in point: Those who scream about the Iraq War being part of a war between Christianity and Islam in the End Times won't do anything more than put stickers on their SUVs.

that could require an attempt. purely situation with American politics is we've Republicans and Democrats. I vote for the guy with the aid of fact in all honesty reckoning on the situation i will fall on the two part. purely situation with this election is I see no candidate that isn't a occasion zealot. i does no longer % Hillary,Rudy,Obama, or Ron Paul to any workplace. If those 4 are the techniques although i could quicker no longer vote than vote for the Hildabeast. despite if with the aid of fact the Dems have Congress i'm hoping a Repub gets the White residing house. this is by no ability sturdy for u . s . a . of america whilst one occasion has all branches.

I don't think that electing a black man or woman would mean a war at all. Most americans, or those worth their weight, would vote for the best candidate, not the color of their skin. Being a white American, I would vote for Condy Rice or Colin Powell should either of them ever choose to run for President. There we have a Black Woman, and a Black Man who are more then capable of running this country better then most of the white candidates that have run in past decades.

No - the southern states are Republican now, and Condoleeza Rice is the (not real likely) only black person suggested so far this election. Colin Powell could run, and the same Democrats that never make it past the primaries. I think the Blue states would not revolt because of the race of the winner. They may try to join Canada because of the party of the winner...

First of all no. Second you need to learn more about the founding of the Confederate States...had nothing to do with Lincoln, in fact the wheels were turn long before his election.

Truthfully, I suppose that it would depend upon his agenda - not his blackness. The South split after Lincoln's election because they knew that slavery was not going to expand into any more territories and that ultimately slaveholders would become a minority.
As for myself, I can think of noone more qualified to be our President at this time that Colin Powell. We are in a time of military crises and I am sure that his experiences would serve us well.

Nobody knows for sure but more than one indicator aren't less evident. We can not think of a civil war although Americans ( not all indeed but a lot of American politicians have a brain smaller than that of my rabbit ) are nothing else than human beings, with emotions and ... but it will look very strange to a nonsense person. A lot of Americans are over skin color consideration and some others are lust primitive, Geoges Bush for instance.

I think that America is much more mixed than it was back then. Quite honestly I think a civil war would be almost impossible to stage. Besides we have enough army/war things to worry about at other places. I also think it would be accepted by Americans to have a black gentleman as president.
