Technically, Princeton does with 24. Amongst current Division I schools, it's Notre Dame with 12 (1924, '29, '30, '43, '46, '47, '49, '53, '66, '73, '77, '88). Alabama is next with 11, followed by Southern California with 10.

Alabama and Notre Dame have 12 national football championships and Southern Cal is next with 11. That is in division 1. Overall Yale has won 18 NCAA national football championships.

Well that is a hard question. Total the answer would be Yale. They have been winning national championships in football since back in the mid 19th century. So you have to narrow down the question. Do you mean in the modern time (after 1950 or so)?

MICHIGAN has the most wins and best winning percentage.

However I heard its a close race between Michigan. Notre Dame, and Alabama.
