Just a regular Filipino citizen. Almost 70% of the Philippine population haven't set foot in Boracay, or Puerto Galera, or Cebu, or other tourist destinations. For one, budget is a problem. However, there's good news. You can still look forward towards savoring the soft powdery sand of Boracay. Why don't you visit the Philippine Airlines website for their Palakbayan promo for Phlippine residents? Have you also heard of the RORO program of the government? You can have a "ride-through" travel via the Southern Luzon roads towards Batangas pier, catch the boat towards Romblon, and board a small ferry boat towards Boracay. If you choose traveling via the latter way, you get to visit other Philippine locations. Isn't that great. Of course, you gotta travel with a large amount of spirit (not the alcoholic one hehe), but that ADVENTUROUS spirit. Good luck!

By the way, wanna know the real secret of the Boracay sand? Imitate what foreign visitors do, they walk around sans footwear (shoes, slippers, etc). The sands of Boracay has that magical feel, even if the sun's rays are beating down on you during the hot summer, the sand remains cool and soft. It's just the Filipino tourist usually that you see wearing rubber flipflops, all the other foreign guys wear none.

You're still a filipino. It doesn't make you a loser too.

I can understand why some Filpinos never set foot in Boracay, our world class beach:

1. Filipinos are too busy working for their daily bread that they can't set aside plans for a Boracay vacation.

2. Boracay is expensive . To go to Boracay, you must take a domestic flight, pay for the boat and pay for your accommodation. I rather go to a nearby beach where its more accessible. If I'm a low wage worker, I wouldnt go there too. I rather save it for something else.

For bongcs, it doesnt make you a less Filipino coz I know many of us never go there yet. Right, shortonwheelz2005?

It doesn't make you anything less but if you have the luxury of time and money, a visit to Boracay would be very worthwhile!
