No is not a sin putting a Christmas tree up. I read the scriptures that you asked. They are talking about getting a tree from the forest, and use a chisel to make it into an idol, things they worshiped. And then they would adorn it with silver and gold.
Talk to you later.

No it is not. The word says "be not afraid because it can do evil nor good". It is a custom, the word said nothing about a sin or abomination. Look, read, and understand what you are supposed to not put added words to the word of God. It's vain the word says (without results). It didn't say you would go to hell and be punished for placing silver and gold on a tree. No, you don't have to follow the way of the heathen. Some people enjoy the beauty of a decorated tree and I have never heard anyone worship a tree.

I personally enjoy my Christmas tree every year, but you can make anything a sin! It's all about self control. I've seen folks spend entire paychecks the day after Thanksgiving on elaborate ornaments and every kind of holiday decoration imaginable to put in their homes, plus max out every credit card trying to impress everyone within their sphere of influence with a gift that will most likely be "recycled" anyway - then not have enough in their bank account to pay basic bills in January. THAT is a sin! Christmas is a time for giving - I believe one should give a small token of love to family and friends and give the rest to the needy! At the very least, give them your old Christmas tree!

Note that Jeremiah 10:5 says, "Be not afraid of them, for they cannot do evil..."

Thus, even the strictest reading of the Bible will tell you that a Christmas tree is not sinful. Furthermore, you will recall that in the Acts of the Apostles, it was decided that Christians were not bound to Jewish laws. Jesus's message is bound up exactly two commandments (Love God and love your neighbor).

YES, all of mens holidays are derived from pagan religions from the past. and it is an abomanation to God. God has Holy days for us to keep thruough out the year listed in lev. 23 and keeped by Jesus and the apostles all though the new testement. So glad that God has open your eyes to this in Jeremiah, here is a form of easter which is an abomanation to God.
Eze 8:15 Then said he unto me, Hast thou seen this, O son of man? turn thee yet again, and thou shalt see greater abominations than these.
Eze 8:16 And he brought me into the inner court of the LORD'S house, and, behold, at the door of the temple of the LORD, between the porch and the altar, were about five and twenty men, with their backs toward the temple of the LORD, and their faces toward the east; and they worshipped the sun toward the east.

I would think God has way too many important things on His mind right now to worry about giving out sins for putting up a tree. I wouldn't worry about it. By the way, did you know this is in the Valentine's category?

Not if you use it to remind you of the reason for the season: The evergreen tree symbolic of everlasting life through Jesus, the lights as in the light of the world, city on the hill; there can be all sorts of Christian symbolism in a Christmas tree if you want it to be. Just remember who you're worshipping...

Jeremiah is condemning the makings of idols not Christmas trees.

If you worship the tree then yes. However if its just a decoration in your house, of course not. The holidays we celebrate are not sins though the excess and greed we often indulge in definately are.

Nothing wrong with putting one up, not unless you're worshipping your Christmas tree.
