Most often than not, when you dream, you feel that it is real. Sometimes, in your dreams, when you even realize and think that, "Hey, am I dreaming?", you often think that you are not dreaming. So, with this in mind, how sure are you that you are not dreaming right now?

Although I consider myself to be smart, I simply do not have my full cognitive skills when I am asleep. Also, everything makes sense when I'm dreaming, but I can think of a few things right now that confuse me... I don't believe that this question is a real question. I understand that this is the philosophy section, but if a person can't tell the difference between dreaming and not, then they've been watching too much TV! Life is GREAT! I sure as heck can tell when I'm awake. I love living.

I've thought about this too. What you're explaining kind of reminds me of metaphysical solipsism. Things here make too much sense and in my dreams I would never be able to do anything manually like this or even think through things, but if this is a dream, I can't wait to wake up, I must be a genius when I'm able to think rationally :) And also, you know when something frightening happens in your dreams and you wake up? I've had plenty of those moments and I'm still in this state of mind. But then again, if we're all dreaming, we could be sleeping in a world where thought is different and the mind endures bigger shocks, but I doubt it. If we are sleeping, this is probably a reflection of our awake selves anyway. And besides, if I'm dreaming you won't read this really anyway :) I'm so confused.

It's true that when I'm dreaming, I often don't realize it. But dreaming doesn't feel at all like this.

I am not so sure. I always felt that life is a dream, and we will 'awake' one day, to a real land where we really belong.

That's why some religious figures are labelled the 'awaken' one...

I'm pretty sure I am dreaming right now. No real responsibilities.... Its also called being a teenager. I like it. I don't want to grow up or "wake up". Ignorance is bliss.

Life is a dream. I am aware of it. Nothing is permanent and I am also aware of it. In order for me to really penetrate through the illusion of reality. I still my mind and let go. I realized the truth......NOW and THEN.

Rene Descartes has convinced me that we cannot ever know whether on not we are dreaming or awake.

Reality is elusive, my opinion.
