Ragging in IIT as compared to other engineering colleges in India is very nominal. Typically there is no physical ragging and if at all any, it has limit which doesn't cause the freshers any sort of trauma etc. Ragging profile is more toward intellectual dragging and brining their ego/self-image down to bottom so that they could break their wall of "self-excellence" to be able to accept others.
