I think it depends on the cinema manager. I went to watch a film a couple of years ago at my local cinema (really small, independent place) and I was late by about 10 mins. I went in anyway, thinking I'd just miss the trailers, and the film had already started and was playing to an empty room.

I would say yes. There's always a chance someone could come in really late, etc. My brother and I were the only ones that went to see a certain film and they still ran it.

I saw little Manhatten on Tuesday last and me and my ex were the only ones there, I did wonder the same thing. Hull always has the best films empty, full of idiots who dont appreciate a good flick x

That's what the projectionist is paid to do. A smart theater owner would yank the film and show something with a little more draw.

There have been several times when I have been the ONLY person in the theater and they run the film.
I like being the only person watching the film.

I used to work nights and see movies during the day. I saw several with only one other person or alone. They run it anyway in case someone shows up.

i believe they do - maybe in case someone turns up late. Me and my boyfriend went to see a film once and there was only one other guy ther, he laughed the whole way through at things that weren't even funny - scary!

In my town, the matinees sometimes are deserted. Once, the only people in that particular theater were me and my two children. Another time, it was us and two other people. They always show the film, though.

Yes. Because I buy the "missing" tickets!
( Honest: I did this several times · if they showed an
unknown French movie or a Polish one... )
