I don't even think he is the best drummer in the Beatles.

I wouldn't even classify Ringo Starr as a good drummer, let alone the best. Besides, naming a musician the best at a particular instrument is a restrictive label. One could say that Slipknot's Joey Jordison is the best because he's so fast and flawless, but then again I can rattle off a half dozen rock and jazz drummers who are not as fast but are more technical. It's subjective through and through.

Ringo is an under-rated drummer, mostly because he was never given to flights of improvisation and razzle-dazzle. He gets in a groove and stays there, providing a very reliable rhythm backing; that's not a skill to be underestimated and one that not all drummers (even some highly touted ones) have.

Not even in his own dreams. The drummer for RUSH is the best. Alex Van Halen, Buddy Rich, many others.

Good Golly, No! Even Ringo knew his limitations. That is why you won't find a single drum solo in any Beatles song. Personally, I'm partial to Carl Palmer of ELP.

I honestly don't know any awesome drummers, but if it can be of all time, then no, Tito Puente is the best.
