I read the novella first and cried. Later I saw the movie and cried too. It is a very good story, and I identified with the characters pain.

You don't have to be gay to like this movie. I am an heterosexual 48yr old mother of two.

Haven't seen it yet, although I would love to.
Did you know that in a small town in Wyoming, people didn't want to see it though. lol, they were claiming that there was no such thing as gay cowboys. Which is an absolute lie. So, both of the cinemas, there were only two, wouldn't show it. They claimed that "there were a limited amount of tapes" and the usual b.s. But people would just go to a bigger city in Montana to watch it, and then for some reason, I can't remember why, the cinemas showed it, or one of them did. It was hilarious, and everyone was like "i am going to boycott it," and there were so many angry letters to the editor that were published in the single newspaper. but I thinkt aht basically everyone went to go see it. But they were so offended by it.

I agree it was a good story plot, I feel the film makers did a cliche with over homo load though. It's too bad they didn't get more into the emotional side outside of the men earlier on so we could enjoy the movie better instead of having to look away from the screen every time they got graphically involved. I mean we didn't get much background on them before they started their thing.

It's definitely one of the best films I've seen.
Don't listen to people who say it's sick, wrong, nasty, whatever-the-****. Love between two human beings is none of those things. It shows you have a high level of maturity, because you watched it, and were touched by it. Good for you!
BTW, if it had been two women, none of these retarded guys would have thought it was gross or wrong. Think about it.

Well, I didn't see it, because I am not into drama that much, but I totally support the message: stop homophobia!

I hate that these 2 lovers had to hie their relationship out of fear, I hope one day homophobia will be ridden of, and I think this is one movie to explain why.

Such a brilliant movie. And SO SAD! I was still tearing up weeks after I saw it when a commercial would come on. I want it on dvd cause it's so good but it's so heartwrenching too.

It was better than I thought it would be, and very reflective of real life for all involved!

I loved it too. Although, I have to say it didn't make me cry. It's so safd that two people in love had to hide their relationship.
