Yes, there isn't any. Herpes is caused by a virus. Actually, there is little cure for viruses nowadays. The only thing that you can generally do in the case of a viral infection is strengthen the immune system and hope it fights it off. Not with Herpes, the immune system can't win against it. Thus you only get to treat the symptoms. Once you're infected, it stays with you for life. So don't get infected.
Personal experience. I have had genital herpes for over 5 years.

RE:
can you get herpes while wearing a condom?
I understand that condoms only reduce the chances of STD contraction. all viruses are extremely minute: could they not simply pass through the porosity of a condom? Besides there is skin to skin contact. any definative answers to this query?
thank you

I am just going by what I remeber in the 80's about herpes..if the person you are having sex has an active lesion or is shedding viremia..it's a possibility..I know guys who thru a grapevine know someone who takes the acyclovir med to lessen lesion time and reduce symtoms and they do like an after morning pilll..3 days 2 pills..like heading off the calvary before they have time to mount an assault

yes. you can reduce your risks of getting herpes and genital warts with a condom, but there is no guarantee. condoms work better for hiv, gonorrhoeae, syphillis, chlamydia, and trichomonas.
