you can plant any time but dead of winter. its just that a hot summer is so hard on new grass and you have to water alot. planting is usually in early spring or fall. if you decide to do it anyway rake the area to make grooves so the seed can fall in them. broadcast the seed and cover with straw to help keep in moisture. Then water EVERY day (unless it rains) for at least 10 days. When the grass comes up water at least every other day if its real hot. Dont cut til you have a good stand. m

Absolutely, but it would almost be better to wait until the second or third week in August. Try to use the same grass seed as your current lawn or check to see what is native to your area - check with your local co-op as they will be the most helpful. Use your golf shoes to aeriate the patch, wet the spot (so the seeds stick)and then sprinkle your seeds to visibly cover the bare spot and sprinkle with water again. Spot check the area twice a week for a month for moisture needs and you should be good to go ;)

Yes but the birds will eat it. So you will need some sort of netting over the whole lawn. Plus with the hot weather you would have to water it well daily.

My lawn is practically dead with the heat.

Spring is better, but Summer is o.k.
1. water regularly
2. Don't walk on it
3. Put a lawn grow compound on it for best results
4. In a months time enjoy your lovely lawn
good luck

Summer isn't the best time in most locations but it can be done.

Be sure to gently water often.

It's better instead of seeding, to "sprig" in the mid to late fall. Depending on where you live and the fear of snow.

You can but you will have to keep it moist or it will die very easily from the heat
