u should ask if theres anything wrong or if they need to talk. if they dont want to be bother its probably best to leave them alone. if you keep bothering them chances are theyll get annoyed and be in a worse mood. another approach is watch a movie (a funny one) and while youre watching a movie eat some chocolate or peanut butter, or go out to eat with a group of friends or just you 2. and maybe all they need is a hug.

serve him breakfast in bed.. call him at work.. prepare dinner.. me for dessert.. sure way to cheer him up!
