With 35 years in floor covering, I've never seen that occur.

I don't know of any "cleaner" that will solve it.

There had to be some chemical reaction between the vinyl and the backing on the rug. I doubt that the backing is "rubber". There are many synthetics other than rubber used for non-slip backings.

Your issue appears to be permanent, in my opinion. I can only suggest contacting a reputable dealer in your area. Not a commission salesman. You will be told to replace it in any event.

If you know the brand and style name of vinyl, that would be the best source for an unbiased opinion.

Manufacturers are always open to listen to issues in order to correct problems or issue warnings for outside problems, and /or improve their products.

Vinyl is a porous material,and has absorbed the chemical from the rubber backing.The stain is there to stay.Sorry!

try westley's bleche-white. It's made for car tires, but it might work for you
