ive been getting these spiders in my house. please help me figure out what it is. I will describe it to the best of my ability. They are like a medium brown/grayish color. About the size of a dime or a bit smaller. But what makes it look so scary and unique is the legs. They are really tall and they are all scrunchedup, bowlegged, doublejointed looking. I wish I had a pic, but I dont. They are really freaking me out. Oh, and I live In KC, Missouri. Which is north-eastern missouri if that help, region-wise. PS. I looked up brown recluses and wolf spiders on the computer and its not that. YIkes HELP!

I live in the same region, they are called "Daddy long legs" the looks of them will put the fear in you,but in reality they are rather harmless(they don'even bite) but actually they are not really spiders . http://www2.lhric.org/pocantico/spiders/daddylonglegs.htm

Well, you've ruled out two of the nasty ones. They sound a bit like what we call "Daddy Long-legs". They aren't harmful if that's what they are. Something like this? http://www.arachnology.org/Arachnology/Pages/Pictures/opilionid.jpg

in the south, we call em Granddaddy Long Legs, and many of us pick em up by the legs all the time to move em from one place to another.

the bad news is this. you'll never get rid of ALL of them.

the good news is -- they won't harm you. just sweep em away with a broom if you don't wanna pick em up.

They're fiddle-backs .. I'm in Oklahoma and we get em too sometimes. Be careful they're bites are poisonous but not deadly. And they like to hide in shoes and clothes. So be careful when putting those on.

By your spider description and your location, I wouldn't worry......(unless you're allergic). They'll do more good than harm, just think of all those nasty mosquitoes that they'll eat up!
