Nirvana, T. Wilder was a spiritual man. He was referring to the ones here that we can see, touch, express our love to, then there are the ones we still love who are gone, that we feel we cant' express our feelings to. The bridge is always there and keeps us connected to those who are gone.

Love is the connection of life and death. One who found that bridge mention, will know that death is the beginning of life and will wish to live in the path, but one who does not believe in the pure true love will find that death is the end of life and will wish to live forever.

it means that love can be expressed in two ways, through bad expressions and through happy expressions. The ways love can do can lead you on either side of the bridge
