I am not afraid of the dark, other than I don't see well in the dark. I have plenty of protection from those who would use the dark for evil purpose. The same things are in the dark as are in the light, they just look very different. I love a cresent moon in a very dark country field. It is so peaceful, especially if there is a stream near where one can hear the water rolling over the rocks. The night creatures come to drink and the sounds are clear. The air is richer and cleaner....Nope. I love the dark.

just recently, i have been afraid of the dark
ever since i came bak to america, i havent been able to get the idea that someone was outside walking( i can hear a lot of noises) or that there were planes overhead (which there are) and bombs would soon be exploding, and a bomb will crash through my window or someone will start shooting, and another war would start outside and we wouldnt come out alive this time inside of my house or room and start shooting at us.
so i try desperately not to fall asleep as well because i always end up with nightmares and wake up screaming and crying
its a terrible thing, and i wish i never had this phobia

No, feel safe in the dark. There was a children's story called "The Owl who was Afraid of the Dark" which I read to our little ones. I think his name was Plop (The owl, not the little ones).
