vintage iron components: like gratings or oven grills etc.. can be beautiful in detail and design. old castings in brass..
turn of the century electric fans and alarm clocks: when utility didn t mean ugly
Vintage Italian racing bicycles: (Campagnolo) artistic and historic relics of the greatest sport ever..Tour de France
Vintage euro cars... 60's Volvos are sexy and so is my 31 year old Porsche, when refined style was not dictated by safety or windtunnels
Vintage Swiss watches, I have 29 of them. lifes little pleasures..the quotidian display on offer 100 times a day..serious art you can take with you.
I could go on and on. beauty (and the devil) is in the details...
there are definately 2 types in this world: collector or not.

i collect old motorbikes and live horses. u wouldnt believe how many people join the horsey set then find they got no f*****kn clue and end up basically given em away . being a animal lover these poor critters get retrained and new homes if any good breed em. But have made so many little girls happy wiv pony club champs from give away horses.

Never have been a collector, seems to me a bit of a control thing. They seem to be saying , I like something so much, I have to have it with me. To be honest though, for most people it's probably a harmless pastime, like collecting shells at the beach, something to remind one of a good, happy time.

I really haven't thought about it being a collection, but I have all kinds of money from different countries, and many childrens books in different languages.

I collect music, books, movies. Not for any monetary value. I'm an outdoorsman, but my favorite indoor interests are listening to music, reading books, and watching movies. So I tend to acquire a lot of these things...for rainy days.....
