Channel 8 just broadcast last week's concert at City Hall jointly organised by Singapore, China, Taiwan and Hong Kong. A big and powerful cast, but most if not ALL lip synched. Terrible. Some Singapore artistes can't even get their synch with the words? Why not "live"?

I agree. But there are 2 points actually. First, they can't really sing well. Secondly, its a big concert and they can't afford to have any technical glitch happening. Even thought its not a livefeed, it will be very 'happening' if the audio system fails on the spot, haha. Imagine the crowd wil go 'wa lau eh!' or 'horrrrrrr'. Then they'll rather have them lin synching then you-know-what, haha.

Not surprising if they lip synch wor... most artistes juz can't sing live at all. There's even some artistes who think it's not necessary to sing 'live' on recording unless it's their concerts...

ooooo wow you've were given it down. yet all those "stars" have gottin renowned by ability of both nickelodeon (witch sucks) or diney channel(witch sucks too) sooo all those human beings are going to pass down hill. because all and sundry is goin to seem at them like there little youthful toddlers position fashions and under no circumstances fairly action picture stars that are fairly cool so dont act or sing for nick or disney!

Simple, most pop musicians nowadays just can't sing. In a studio they can use all kinds of high-tech vocal enhancing equipment. When live they have to rely on their own skills, of which they have none.

Because they do not have confidence in their ability to perform live therefore trying to keep safe by dong some piss poor job of lip synced BS.

think about it . It's almost physically impossible to sing and dance for 15 minutes,try it, so how is it possible to to that for 2hrs.That is the reason for lips sync.
