How do you defeat Queen Bean in Mario superstar saga? She keeps on getting bigger and i dont have a chance?

Queen Bean always becomes bigger after i hit her in the head a lot of times its really annoying! how do you beat her?!

you have mario and luigi jump on her arms until they diminish then use marios hammer BROS. attack and luigis jump BROS attack do this three or four times and she will be dead
P.S. when she spits beans out her mouth if you land on them they become bad guys
