Lots of Americans here don't seem to know their history.

Alaska is part of the American continent (though there are a few islands of that state which may be classified as Asia, I'm not too sure)

Yes Russia did own Alaska and sold it off to America much to it's later regret.

No when Russia did own it there was no natural ice bridge. That had gone long before. The ice bridge was speculated to be how the Altaic and pre-Altaic tribes managed to travel from Siberia to Alaska.

No Russia does not "lie only between europe and Asia." Russia lies in "both" Europe and Asia. Well at least now it does, when it had Alaska it was also in America too. You may also notice that there are several places up north in Canada that also bear Russian names.

Alaska (if you've ever bothered to look at a map) is part on the NORTH AMERICAN continent. Yes it was owned by Russia before, but that was when there was a natural "Ice Bridge" connecting the two continents.

Alaska consists of a true continental area belonging geographically to the American continent, and a series of Islands (the famous volcanic or fire belt: 93 active vulcans if I am not wrong) belonging to Asia as a continuation of the Aleutinian islands.
