i have been having knee problems lately. i work out a lot and it started at the beginning of the summer while playing basketball. it just recently started hurting again except a lot more. there was never a sudden injury, it just started hurting. it is painful on the inner side of my right knee. i can sometimes feel it "grinding" and it pops whenever i use it. i have been icing it 2 times a day this week but i can not tell any difference. i have no history of knee pain ever. i am only 15 so take that into consideration for what you think it might be. my guess is that i may have torn cartilage, because of the grinding. It is also painful to the touch on the inner side right between the kneecap and thebone, in that dip. when i walk my knee will sometimes "lock up" and my knee will jerk. right now not doing anything, sitting here typing this it hurts. if anyone has an idea of what i should do please tell me, or what the doctor might say. any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank You.

it sounds like you have damaged your acl which if not attended to can cause damage to your cartilage because your knee no longer has proper movement and stability in the joint. If that is the case the longer you leave it unattended the worse it will become.

SEE A DOCTOR!!!!!!!!!!

It is hard for many people to accept just how much a knee or leg injury will affect your life until it is too late.

SEE A DOCTOR!!!!!!!!!!!

Most ACL damage can be repaired back to almost 100% if caught early enough.

SEE A DOCTOR!!!!!!!!!!!!

SEE A DOCTOR!!!!!!!AN ORTHOPEDIC SPECIALIST!!!!!!

Hi! It does sound like you have a cartilage tear, or a tendon tear...see your doctor to get an accurate diagnosis. However, the best thing to do for that is to take Nettles (they are specific for arthritis and cartilage repair) and rub Chammomile essential oil and Lavender essential oil on the injured area 2 times daily - it will help with the pain and inflammation, and Lavender is a wonderful healer in itself. Also, continue with the ice and rest...it will help. I am at windstarhealing.com if you have any questions.

see a doctor and get some glucosomine. it lubricates joints. i was playing paintball in a abandoned tire field. i was running across the top of the tires maybe 20 feet up when i encountered the enemy. (lol my brother) he opened fire. i started running faster and looking back shooting. i then feel into a hole and went sideways. my knee pop-ed and make a cracking sound. i ace bandage it and suffered for 3 weeks laying down every chance i had. thank god its better today but you may need surgery or its just a sprain like mine was.
