ok so youve tried logging on unsuccessfully, me too , for some reason , just couldnt and i emailed yahoo and got no answer, so what i did was defrag about 5 times and then my messengar worked , dont ask me why this was just try and see it may work for you too.

Just coincidence. Messenger started working sometime in the past 6 hours. It was a server problem... nothing to do with your computer.

It happened the same thing to me but instead of defrag i just kicked my computer a couple of times, it sounds stupid but it often works. And dont tell me its coincidence because I am sure it is not. When kicking does not work then i usually defrag....

Defragging didn't help, Yahoo is up now again everywhere. They had some problems that are now fixed. You did all that for nothing, well not exactly nothing, your hard drive is defragged now. Good luck!

Coincidence.
The structure of your hard drive has nothing to do with Yahoo servers.

sorry,
this would have let your computer restore some of lost clusters and yahoo's lost bits and bytes on your hdd might have got pieced together, other wise it's not the Panacea.
Anyway thanks for that piece of advice.
