or you could try over-clocking your CPU if your CPU supports that.
but, then remember that it will run hot sooner and if there are temperature settings on the CPU to turn it off at certain temp. it will switch off at that temp. without warning.

It depends on the processor and the processor slot that your laptop has. You can't change the motherboard on a laptop, so you'll have to stick to processors it supports.

I think that you should take it to Bestbuy and let the Geek Squad do it for ya...or if you bought a Hp,Gateway,MAC, etc., then take it to their central, and they'll do it for ya!
