You have to get a prescription for it here in the States. Go to your doctor. Better yet, don't have unprotected sex if you're not ready to have a kid.

You have a few different answers from people here, but to my knowledge the only place you can get it is from your GP, and it must be within 48 hours. I saw my doctor once for the same thing 5 and a bit years ago, and he sent me home telling me to take two doses of my regular pill, which I did, I now have a lovely healthy beautiful 6 and a half year old daughter, hehe, I guess that one was not so reliable!
The morning after pill is a pill that kills the egg after it has dropped from your fallopian tube sometimes before and sometimes after it has been fertilised, so no, don't listen to the answer above, it is not killing your child, as life has not yet begun, it is to PREVENT a fetus, not kill one. It is the more responsible way of dealing with a little mistake (other than prevention I suppose) rather than waiting until it's too late.

This pill is for women, for one reason or another, feel they might get pregnant from the activities of the night before. It is supposed to abort any fetal/egg activities as a result of your activities from the night before. You have to get a prescription for the pill for each time you may have such a problem and can be done with either your gynecologist or some kind of planned parenthood thing. However, I have already heard of a lot of Catholic doctors refusing to give it out due to their beliefs so make sure your doctor will give it to you. Good luck!!

Instead of worrying about the morning after pill why not be more responsible and practice safe sex or not have it at all.

the first person that answered is wrong. it's not the same as two birth control pills! the morning after pill prompts your period by shocking your system into forcing a period, hence stripping the uterous of it's lining... hence inabling anything from attaching/ implanting. you get the pill from your health care provider.

It's a contraceptive pill (stops pregnancy). It's taken after the event (sex not pregnancy ). Shouldn't be taken often just as an emergency.

See your Doctor for it. I think you have 48 hours (safely).
