"Near" and "close" seem similar. But there is a difference. Right? What is the difference? Are there any rules?

think of two lovers, they are close means they are almost touching. if they are "near" they can "see each other". that's the only way i can think of explaining that question. really good question though.

Depends on your perception. I think that close is closer, and near is farther away. In some cultures, sitting practically on top of a person would be considered near. In other cultures, the same distance may be percieved as close.

the both mean the same, you might use one in a sentence that sounds a little better but there are no rules on this near and close are the same!

see , i am near to you i can answer your quetion and you can read it . but i am not close to you . you can not see me or touch me . thats the diffrence and you asked rules ,no there are not .
