There are several types of baits available. They can be placed in an attic space, and that should get rid of them and stop further vermin from coming into your home.
I suggest talking to someone at a local hardware store, or if it gets really bad, cal an exterminator. There is rarely any need to rip apart the walls.
Good luck.

Pitbull is funny!
You have to see how they are getting in - squirrels will come and go every day. Close up all entrances but one then block the last entrance when they are out of the house.

Squirrels will leave the house during the day to look for food. You find where they enter the house and then repair. That will solve your problem with squirrels.
In your case, I think your problem is rats and you need to use rat poison and traps. Hope this helps.

Dont poison them there aint nothing like a dead critter in the wall.
Find the entry source and set a trap. Seal the hole with foam and balled up chicken wire. Id place my bets on a mouse or chipmunk as the problem.
