Nope i dont think it should have deserved the world cup
They came into the quarter finals after they made the refree confuse and got a penalty against australia in the before match
They again got zidane angry and got him out and won the match which should not at all have been done
I dont tell u that they dont deserve the world cup at all but france and some other teams like Brazil and England deserve it much better

YES. They deserve it. Despite all the problems and the injuries ( Totti, Nesta, Vieri ... ) they showed the world that italian football was still there. Just have a look back at the semi-finals against Germany.. I've never seen such a game. What happened between Zizou and Materazzi, that was a personal affair, and it shouldn't be taken for a reason why France lost. Even if Zizou wasn't sent off.. do you think Trezeguet woudn' have missed his penalty ??

yes they did, dont think about what happened with matterazzi, same thing could be said with cristiano ronaldo and rooney (come on.... rooney pushing ronaldo is the main reason why he was sent off.... not the stamp on the defender) ..... look at the stats of italy man, they only conceeded 2 goals throughout the whole finals (1 was an own goal and another was the zidane penalty..... no goals were conceeded during the normal run of play....amazing aint it), and you see the heart and they played with all the problems that they encountered..... its just amazing....... i know lots of guys supported brazil.....but they didnt play well (seriously against france what was that all about? and always using ronaldo......they had faster strikers on bench who could have done what he did with less effort....im not saying hes not good....hes just not fit....and ronaldinho....guys you have to admit he was a total disappointment)..... others supported germany (home advantage and some really dubious calls by refs went in their favor.... come on the argentina match? and the portugal match ? please!!!! although i have to give it to them and jurgen klinsmann..... they played exceptionally well) france did alright.... considering some internal squabbles.... but at the end of the day they just couldnt cut it...... lets face it...... the penalty shot of zidane was a fluke..... and trezeguet just did not have the composure (or tried to emulate zidane for the earlier goal.... who knows) the goalkeepers in the penalty shootout were not main factors.... it was the strikers..... and italy historically are bad with penalties...... so they overall overcame a lot to get through. the main factor was italy's 2 main men.... gattuso and cannovaro....these guys fought hard to win the ball and ensure that france did not score.... and that they did not give up but kept on running even after they conceeded that penalty

Hell, no they didn't deserve it! They wouldn't have even come out of the final 16 had they not been awarded that unfair penalty kick. Then they got Frings suspended so they could beat Germany, and a penalty kick should have been awarded to Germany in the 85th minute, but instead Germany only got a freekick. And against France, they only got lucky that Trezeguet's penalty kick hit the post. They got through the whole tournament by cheating.

It's hard to say for sure that anyone really deserved it. The officiating was so random that any team that was in the right place at the right time could have won it. Italy was as good as anyone else.

Only because Materizzo--or what was his name?--was headbutted. I think that automatically should have been a one-goal penalty: end of game; everybody go home.
He he!!! Just kidding! I'm just baiting the SOCCER fans to have a nice argument with me. (They don't like it when I say soccer.) Shhhhhhh!!! I think I hear them cumming.
Soccer faaaaaaans...where aaaaaaaare youuuuu????
Or how about this? If Materizzo felt he was wronged, why not end the game on a ten/nine-penalty-kick shootout between the two partiesinvolved in the red-card penalty? Ten penalty kicks for Materazzi, and nine for Zidane (Zidane only gets 9 because of the red card). Whichever player puts in the most kicks wins the World Cup for their team. Hey!!! That's brilliant! I'm a genius!!! I should be in FIFO...or whatchamacallit? FIFI?
Of course, if they're still tied after that, then they go into sudden death overtime--with Zidane out of the game, of course, because he's still red-carded.
Wow! I should get paid for this. I think I'd better copyright my ideas before FIFI sees this on Yahoo!® Answers.
Can somebody ask for me, "How do I get my FOFO ideas copyrighted before FIFI finds out? (I don't want to burn five points.)

Yes, even if a player wasn't very sporting to insult another player, the whole TEAM came a long way after working hard, and they won.
They deserve it.
