Are you trying to get an Internet access with the connection(wireless) of any local network?? or bluetooth?
A broadband with modem is real and faster speeder of internet. That's the conectivity with any cabel(T.V) network. It causes to give you a faster internet and have no limitations.
as the wireless internet connection have any small fault, it can communicate with any local network which is not setupped in your desktop or laptop or the compony providing wireless service have any fault due to rain etc. In this case, connectivity will be on after hardly 3 days.
Call your opreator. There is no any harm to communicabel softwares by virus (they can pass through them, but cannot harm them.

Try Pinging to the gateway if you get reply then ping yahoo.com and see if you get reply or not....If you dont get reply then check your ipconfig and see where you got the dhcp server setting from and tryping that ip. If there is no reply then see if norton firewall is on or not try disabling norton. ( Biggest Culprit ). NOw you should get a reply then try pinging a site like yahoo.com if you get reply then your internet is working there is some browser problem. if you dont get reply then check with your dns server address try using another dns address like 203.94.227.70. and if everything fails check if you really are connected to the net from the router or not, pressuming you have already checked that and call up bsnl.

Your default gateway is wrong

it should be the ip or your router, usually 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 , but it might be something different. 1o.0.0.4 is definitly not an ip address, try 10.0.0.4
