When my older brother went through a Zen Buddhist-Carlos Castendada-vegetarian phase, he would eat fish and said it was okay because they don't have a central nervous system and therefore don't feel pain.

It is just something people say to make themselves feel better because they like the taste. Generally when things are dead they don't have any feelings anyway, but that can't discount the fact that they had some that were shocked out of the water before they died.

Fish is a living creature, just like chicken, etc.
If you could eat chicken, you can also eat fish. No problem and it is good also.

Its ok to eat anything you want anyway. As long as the creature doesnt suffer cruilty. Look at the wild, an animal can kill another animal for food, thats all we are.
