I suffer from ddd ( degenerative disk disease) and I am shopping around for a good mattress, if anyone has tried the new memory foam or the sleep number beds, I would love to hear from you. Thanks to all.

I've got the tempurpedic and I love it!! It takes about two nights for your muscles to get used to it straightening you out at night but then it's wonderful! I would recommend getting the box spring thing too, that and they make a bed that has 4'' more of the memory foam on for people with really bad backs. Plus, if you don't like you can return within 120 days!!

Everyone has different comfort preferences, sleeping positions, and neck-back-hip issues . . only you can determine what is a "great mattress". In general, slow recovery (memory) foam is recommended for disk problems. Consider 3" pink over 5" lux.
