I think England is a star team. And yes i agree to a certain extent. But, you see although England has a tremendous team. E.g. the midfield, steven gerrard frank lampard , david bekcham, joe cole. They just could not really have the teamwork there. So as the manager is not too good in choosing players. He should have someone replacing lampard or gerrard, as both of them shoots in a long range. He should have someone who have great dribbling skills and try to have asists.

Their defence were quuite good. There are problems with their midfield. That is why they could not score in the world cup. This is just my comment. Thank you.

I would say tha england is one of the best team around the world. On not winning the Fifa 2006 doesn't make the team bad.Look at Brazil. The number one spot in the ranking don.t even qualify for the final.Remember France?Being the defending champion in 2002 but don't even pass the group stages. So being the champ doesn't mean it's the best. For me,LONG LIVE THREE LIONS............

England were the best team...If you were on planet mars

Hopefully Steven McLaren will see us right and actually pick a decent first eleven instead of that shi*e that S-G-E selected

But there again, don't hold your breath, you'll get better odds Tiger Woods breaking Jack Nicklaus's record on wining the most golf 'Majors' , then you will have on england ever reaching a final of a major championchip (let alone actually winning it)

I do convince that england team is the best football team with the likes of beckham, lampard and etc. but the main problem is the management of these superstars..... look what Sven Goran Eriksson did to this team... his selection recently was a catasthropic one, he insisted to select the likes of rooney which is injured, although this guy is talented, but we all know that he is not fit, like michael owen, another good but not in shape.... they select a bean pole striker, peter crouch and also for heaven's sake, theo walcott who even eriksson didn't see this player in premier league... although there are some options such as darren bent and wright philipps. which can help them a lot instead of those injured although talented players. so for me a matter of good management will complete our claim that england is one of the great team in the game of football...........

Definately not. Argentina were the best team in the world cup. England had a garbage manager.

If they are best football team then how come they never won the world cup? And why have they not won a major tournament for quite some time?

England have players that simply create MAGIC.

The reason they aren't winning anything is that they aren't really united as a team. And that's probably because of "not so good" managing.

On paper then yeah we have a very talented team.... but they didn't cut the mustard but there's more to it than the team.... the coach sucked @rse and he left Jermaine Defoe at home and took a very-talented but inexperienced kid with him that he didn't even select once.
Also we went out on penalties AGAIN, so obviously there's issues to do with mental attitude approaching very high pressured situations... The Italians won it and they we also rubbish at penalties.... Roll on Euro 2008 but I'm not getting my hopes up...
