I'm looking to download the theme song to 'Good Morning Miami'/ Johnny Rzeznik- Once In A Lifetime on Limewire, except the size of the file seems a little suspicious. Should I go ahead and download it?

I would stay away from it if you're unsure! Most good virus scans such as Norton will recognize a threat in the attachment as long as the virus scan software is up to date. There could be other software attached to the file that is not a virus but some sort of audio software. There could also by spy ware.If there is an attachment the virus scan software should look at it and tell you if it detects any threats before you down load. This is not 100 percent foolproof though so again if you have doubts don't do it.Run your spy ware after downloading it if you do decide to.This will tell you if you need to remove any programs that accompany it.The spy ware icon is bottom middle on your tool bar.

Some limewire's are viruses. I've had a friend who downloaded several songs off that site only to discover her computer had a virus on it. If you don't feel safe then don't use it. try to download a winrar or something like that so that it can check the file to make sure it's safe. Also if you have anti-virus on your computer after your done downloading you should do a scan of all you documents.

Usually the Mp3 song would be in 2- 4 MB. If it's a theme song it could be of a minimum of 128kb. Finally, it could be a song because the virus could not be of such a size. However, update the Anti-Virus aosftware which is installed in your Pc and download it. If it is a Virus the Anti-Virus Software detects and you can undo the download by deleteing and scannnig for Virus.

files you know are going to be big in size (ie. mp3 usually 3-5mb, video 10mb+, etc.) that show small size like 240K or 28b are probly a virus. just use your common sense when downloading from a P2P service.

and YES that's most likely a virus! keep serching for larger ones at least 2Mb+ and you should be OK. plus keep your virus def's up to date.

check the extension first. if MP3, it should be around 3mb, WMA format as well as MIDI and KAR takes little space. Usually viruses on Limewire are less than 200kb but you never knows. So be careful
