The Caribbean Beach is one of the more popular Moderate resorts - possibly because it has some of the largest rooms of all the Moderates. (For those with mobility issues, it also has some of the best accessible rooms on property.)

I would certainly say it's not "crap", although it is not one of my favorites. (My favorite moderate is the Port Orleans French Quarter.)

On the plus side, it is one of the most interesting moderate resorts, has its own beach (on a beautiful lake with watercraft available) and promenade, nine swimming pools (including an amazing Spanish-fort-themed main pool complex with whirlpools, waterfalls, slides and water cannons), and a decent table-service resturant.

On the negative side, the place is HUGE. There is an internal bus system, but it can be over half a mile from the central area to the more distant rooms. If your room is near to the central area, it can be rather noisy during peak seasons.

I wouldn't consider ANY of the Disney Resorts to be crap! They are all very very nice. I thought the Caribbean Beach Resort was very nice and I loved their pool. My favorite Disney World Resorts are Animal Kingdom Lodge (most pricey though), Beach Club (sand bottom pools are always fun), Port Orleans, and the Boardwalk Hotel.

It is actually the most popular of the moderate resorts. I think that it is a pretty resort, as far as the grounds and everything. The rooms are nice, nothing special.

It is a large hotel, so I definitely think that the preferred location room is worth the upgrade.

Personally, I like Coronado a little more, but it just depends what you prefer for the theme of your resort.

It also depends what you are used to. The moderates are pretty basic, a little nicer than the values and well worth the upgrade, but if you are used to nicer hotels, then you should consider the upgrade to a deluxe.

It's a typical Disney resort......not crap, but noisy (if you want peace & quite try Port Orleans). Has a Caribbean theme & seems like a nice hotel. I have only stayed there once, but Port Orleans is my favorite.

I thought it was pretty good! The rooms were nicely decorated, and had a fridge it it! I think mainly because of the distance to the main dining building. But it was very nice environment, and the lake was pretty. We had a standard room, but we had a very nice garden view (plus we were right around the corner from the pool).

I would stay there again!

Although, it did seem to take awhile to get anywhere on the Disney buses. Even though Epcot was so close, you had to go around it, to get to the main entrance.

It is a little noisy with all that Caribbean music playing in the lobby. They sell a lot of pirate theme merchandise.

It is kind of a festive atmosphere if you like that.

I opt for the serenity of the Port Dixie, or Coronado Springs myself. They are in the same price range.

It is alright. For a moderate resort I think Port Orleans French Quarter and Coronado Springs are better.

It's not crap. Not the best, but still very pretty and well-appointed. Some people might not like it because it's a very big property and has multiple bust stops.

I haven't personally stayed here but do know someone who has and they loved it.
They have booked to go again. I stayed at a different Disney Hotel and loved it.
The service is great no matter where you stay.

Enjoy yourself and have a great time.
