Being that despite releasing an album every few years but not having any phenomenal hits in over a decade, no, I would say she is not. From what I heard her live show is very popular and pretty good, but it mostly consists of older material with older costumes by the older Material Girl, which is not trendsetting...it is an oldies show.

Nopa! I asked a similar question the other day: what would 28 year old Madonna think of 48 year old Madonna...I am no longer inspired or impressed by her. Who's trying to become more disco and wear feathered hair? Only her and Jessica Simpson. Movin on.

She is still influential in the music industry but no longer an up front trend setter. She will always have a following of course but young audiences have little interest in her music.

What was the trendiest colour once she released "Confessions on a dance floor"? Purple! You do know why, right?
