Apparently governments (bush and blair) refuse to talk to terrorists, but have they forgotten the IRA. They talked to them. In fact the IRA got most of its money from americans who have a tenuous tie to Ireland. They seemed to have some romantic vision of the IRA and were happy to raise money on their behalf.
America is as much as terrorist as anyone, just look at Rwanda where they sat and done nothing while a million people got chopped to pieces with machetes. By choosing to do nothnig they are just a guilty of crimes as those who take action.

That's easy. Hezbollah, Hamas, Al qaida. Why are people morally confused about this? Israel and US have made mistakes in confronting this brand of fascism, but at least we confront it. There is no comparison between the actions of Israel and US versus the actions of the Islamic Fascists. Yes, I said fascists.

You got it right! But then you know how any armies waging wars against disidents label them as terrorists? Insist 'terrorists' attack their villages, put their people at risk, while dropping bombs, sending missiles to hit 'terrorists' and killing more civilians than anything else. Difference has to be that armies at it wear uniforms, have a mandate from their president to go out there and kill anything that moves whereas terrorists do not wear uniforms, and do not have the backing of the United nations because none of them want to stand up to the president encouraging another state by supplying them with weapons, hoping it will reach Syria and/or Iran that he has long hoped to demolish as any country in the middle east. so to cut a long story short ... terrorists are people causing terror to others by attacking them whether they should be soldiers of a recognized army or belong to a non recognized group.
But you know most people feel the way i do, i don't know where you are but they are marches everywhere, demanding Israel stop their attacks and indeed the blockade against palestinians. When foreginers married to palestinians, living in palestine can't even go home to visit their families because if they do ... they'll not be allowed home to their husband in palestine ... It just gives you a good example of who the real terrorists really are.

If you are an individual or part of a non-government group, and you use the tactic of random attacks to induce fear in your enemy's civilian population, then you are a terrorist.
Governments can't be terrorists by definition: They have armies and all the weapons they need. They don't bother to try to shape public opinion to get what they want. They just invade and kill anybody in their way.
The term "Terrorist" is being used to label groups as hateful, but it really does not have anything to do with the righteousness of their cause. It is just the only option when you are fighting a vastly imbalanced war.
Most non-government groups that use terrorist tactics are sponsored by some government or another, but that does not make the government "terrorists".

I find the use of the term Terror by politicians and the media absolutely disgustingly partisan and immoral.
How on EARTH is it worse for a "terrorist" insurgent to blow up a car (not that I'm justifying this) than it is for a Bomber Jet to blow up a neighbourhood with impunity?
None of these are justifiable but focusing on the small scale and ignoring the large scale actions is missing the essential point - the murder and suffering of innocent civilians.

this is a really good question.
I suppose "who" they are is like asking who's shadow I am seeing.
A "real Terrorist" is one who only sees the use of induced fear that is visible to the world (which the result is lose of human life and communities) as the only answer to achieving their goals and desires.
All of these actions are laced with rage and the need to win at any costs. I also think the idea that the "whole is greater then it's parts" is a motto they follow.
God help us all.

who are the real terrorist?
---------------------------------
First terrorists ever appeared on earth were the Israelis in early 30's but been again activated in mid 40's and they worked on the Europeans specifically the British.
They then setup a whole net of terrorist world-wide and now working on each single state from South Africa to Easter Europe and even inside the USA.
Many of these Jewish terrorists who work in USA work for the American defence in all its units and divisions.
The defence is a point of control anywhere.
Ah if Americans know, and wake up for the cancer inside their own bodies.Poor Americans.

Terrorists, deliberately target innocent civilians. Freedom fighters, Don't. Neither do countries who have to defend themselves against terrorists, who have to be winkled out from the local population.
