What do they earn if more and more people log on and surf their site, who pays them and whats the exact structure?

they earn a lot of money from yahoo's log-on users advertise fee and sell the virtual items such as avatar.

commercials from other sites/companies
this companies want thier commercials on big famous sites like yahoo! and thats why they are paying yahoo! in order that yahoo! will publish thier stuff and many more ppl will see it.
