Does anyone know whether McAfee is having problems. Can not get to their website...on any of the computers in my house.

http://www.mcafee.com/us/ is working fine here.
Some viruses have been known to block access to major Anti-Virus vendors. Look in your HOSTS file for a suspicious entry directing McAfee.com to 127.0.0.1

hi, i recommand you to try firefox.
firefox is much smaller than IE, so i run faster than IE.
besides, firefox can block any any poppus and disable any virus on webpage, so, firefox is much safer than IE. as you know, most of the virus is spread throught internet and webpage.
