personally, skip the Aquarium. 17 Mile Drive, definitely. Fisherman's wharf is only a deal if you like seafood restaurants and great views while dining. Otherwise it's a tourist Trap. Custom House Plaza, on the other hand, has a couple of small musuems, some free, some not, including the Maritime museum.

Cannery Row.. fine and casual dining( if you like Thai, Try Amarin Thai across the street form the Aquarium..yummers), 4 or five wine tasting rooms, including Taste of Monterey, where you can sample wines from all over the county. They also have a KILLER view of the bay and sell wine by the glass, so you can sit and relax and watch the Harbor seals sun bathe on rocks and the baby seagulls learn to fly and/or attack the window washer guy....

Take a stroll down the Rec Trail down to Lover's Point in Pacific Grove. Just past the Aquarium on the Trail is a big stretch of beach that is the local hangout for the Seals and their pups. it's fenced off, but you can get a good glimpse. Also just past the Aquarium is Archie's American Diner. the BEST burgers in Cannery Row. I recommend the patty melt.. to share.. it's that big...

As someone else mentioned, Seventeen Mile Drive is a must. Also, for a nice stroll, park and walk Cannery Row... you can do that for a good long time. The aquarium is cool too. Have a good time!

Pebble Beach Golf Course. Even if you have no interest in golf. It's one of the most scenic places in America.

No, you will not be missing any other interesting places. Just go to San Francisco afterward.
