Here in New York if you are from another country and your laws are different, marijuana is illegal. My niece's friend had a party last night and was talking to her well known druggie boyfriend and gave him 30 dollars for marijuana, and were going to do it in the house when her parents went to bed. My niece left early because she was mad. My niece has helped this girl time and time again with her problems with friendship, cutting (self mutalation), depression from her biological mom leaving her, and even saved her from overdosing on pills by telling the guidance office at her school. What should she do, she told me this and told me she feels bad letting her do it because its wrong?

At the party there was only 7 people. Two people one including my niece were leaving by 10:30, another girl they were waiting to go to sleep so they could smoke pot, and one girl who's a mere 13 was smoking pot with them like it's not a big deal cause she doesn't do it all the time

She needs to tell the school psychologist or guidance counselor. I had issues in HS and my friend told the school psychologist. It was the best thing anyone has ever done for me. I know it is summer but if they are in summer school that is a plus. Even if not and the school is open she should contact them. I don't know if i would go to the parents b/c if there is denial it will just become worse over time. After she does that she needs to step back. It will take a toll on her life. Your niece needs to be proactive so she knows she has done everything she can and then needs try to emotionally detach. that's a tuffy

unfortunatlly it sounds like this friend of her's need's more help than she can really give. this may sound cruell but she need's to cut this friend loose because in the end she's only going to end up hurt or in trouble for something she she didn.'t even do. if she doesn't want to do that then she need's to tell her friend she need's HELP..sometimes people take a true friendship for granted. kind of like the old saying you don't know what you got till it's gone..and if this friend of hers really is a friend she realize it's time for help and if not a least your niece tried to help her.

Your niece NOW has a choice to either stop helping her mate and let her mate learn from her own mistakes. If your niece continues to assist then she is not being a true mate. I think your nieces mate is being selfish so tell your niece to be true to herself and do what's good for her and not her mate. Good luck

It sounds to me that you need to get your niece away from this person and have her make new friends. Have this friend and boyfriend reported to the proper authorities.
This "friend" desperately needs professional counseling.
