not a chance in hell. open wheel racing in america will NEVER again approach the popularity of NASCAR. that ship sailed a long time ago, and open wheel racing was left standing on the dock

Yes. You will see a more varied schedule of races (more road courses and street circuits along with the ovals), plus you will see larger and stronger fields of drivers.

Plus, the IRL is selling out races now as it is, and a unified series will provide more visibility. So more people will get to see that not all racing is about wrecking the other guy.

Open-wheel racing used to dominate NASCAR in this country - it can and will do so again.

No, NASCAR is now THE motorsport in the US. For IRL and ChampCar to kiss and make up is more about survival than going toe to toe with NASCAR. I say that even though I don't watch NASCAR at all. Even the girls down at the beauty parlour like NASCAR and you can't say that about any other motorsport ever.

Probably not. I hate it though because the racing is better than anything NASCANT can bring.
