Yes, the constant struggle to improve on what you did yesterday is very rewarding. I have been making jewelry for over 30 years. Each day I make something different and have had the pleasure to work with many gifted artists. The advances in technology have been a tremendous help but it still comes down to one thing. Hard work and the creative process. I have worked alongside many talented craftspeople but the ones who rise to the top of their field are never satisfied with yesterdays success. I have also worked with some people who have a tremendous natural talent but go through the motions and won't work an extra minute or put any extra effort into a particular piece. They don't have the soul to seek perfection and improvement on what they have created in the past. I believe this is applicable to any occupation and people who have this desire are happy and have a passion for creativity. I think the wonderful experience is solving that problem when you are away from your work and the idea for solving the problem comes out of nowhere, riding home from work, taking a shower, whatever. It was a rush the first time it happened and it still is very satisfying every time it happens. I never get tired or bored with what I do and look forward to work the next day. I'd say I'm content in my life.

Only God, which is good, can create. He speaks of things that are not as though they are, and behold, they spring into being. Now we can take of what He made and shape it into many inventions. It is not to do so that is good or evil, but the intent, and the purpose is where it shall be judged. If we use a thing to save life, having invented it also for that purpose, it is well. But if we invent something to destroy life and use it for that purpose, it is not well. Say an ambulance is used to take a child to a hospital where knowledge and effort saves the child's life. Is it not well? But say a man takes an ambulance and uses it to kill people walking on a sidewalk.. Is it well? So the invention is not good or evil, but what is done with it, and the responsibility upon they that do so. Even so, some inventions are not wise, especially when another would have been far better to have been chosen for any reasonable task. Pollution from cars, though they might be used often to save lives, is also killing lives. I would suggest that people invent with cleanness and safety in mind. Why make the corner so that if a head hits it, the corner is not damaged, when one could invent a soft corner, that the head is not damaged if it hits it?

If I were a sculptor, took from my hands and mind to bring a statue into existence, it was good for me. May look at that creation for awhile, get a sledge hammer, and obliterate it. For me to destroy was also good. Someone else may have liked my creation, and thought the destruction was a bad move.
The above is my answer to both your questions, on creating and destroying. Either I am not greedy for points , or just lazy, you decide.
