I don't know why you have this impression that school is similiar to prison. Perhaps you're still schooling in a primary or secondary school and you're feeling the pressure.

I don't know if you're residing in Singapore, but I have to agree that education in Singapore is very stressful, especially for young kids.

If you feel that you're like in a prison while schooling, think about the inmates in the prison. You room is behind the bars; you don't get to go to Orchard Road with your friends because you're locked in the prison compound; you won't be able to wear nice clothes because you'll be given uniform to wear; you won't be called by your name but by your prisoner number. When you're released from the prison, you'll have a hard time looking for a job, and not to mentioned that you'll get disproving looks from many people even though you're willing to turn a new leaf.

Perhaps you should visit the prison and look at the inmates' lives then think about what you've asked. I can say I'm definitely leading a happier life as a student now as compared to the inmates.

College is a lot better..

But High School and Under.. I would say it is similar because there are sets of rules you have to follow or you will be punished.
