Both are great goalies.
But Buffon is 28 And Casillas is 25 (3 years difference)
Buffon is slightly better but this is maybe due to the weak defense of Real Madrid.
I mean look at Buffon in the 2003-2004 due to the weak Juventus conceded 42 Goals.
As for who do I think is better, Will my vote goes to Buffon.

Buffon and there is no question about that… even when you take a look into their pasts buffon had to make his rough way through Parma, Cassilas through Real Madrid which was easier than Gigi. Buffon is a natural talent ( according to his mother and father - both were sportists ) while Iker’s pretty not. And the most wanted fact gigi has considered less goals than iker…

Buffon, though I thought Cassilas was a superstar when he first played in the World Cup, he was very young.

Without a doubt Buffon, why?? because he transmit confidence to his own defense, not only Juventus conceded very few goals as Italy did it as well, that is because of Buffon not only he is much better than Casillas than he stimulate better his defense, that is my opinion, ohhh although I'm not italian I'm happy that buffon didn't abandon his team in this moment of crise, Buffon Rules!!=P

Buffon's career has been better, but Ilker Cassilas has the potential to be the best 'keeper in all of Europe,
