At an advanced stage during pregnancy, a fetus may become capable of feeling pain. But, there appears to be no consensus among experts about whether this happens and at what point in the pregnancy the sensation of pain starts.

Many physicians and researchers of fetal development believe that synaptic connections within the fetus' brain are necessary to perceive pain. These are not formed until the third trimester, when fewer than 1% of all pregnancy terminations are done. For example, researchers at the University of California, San Francisco, CA wrote that babies born before 30 weeks’ gestation lack "functional pain perception." They suggested that this is one indicator that "fetal perception of pain is unlikely before the third trimester."

The mental lives of animals without language is hard to guess at.
Some theories would deny pain or any mental life at all to things without access to an external environment to experience, which would be the case of a foetus. It seems that there must be an external point of reference (see "Externalism").
But is the abortion issue about pain?

The "FETUS" is a baby. Why do they not get rid of the parents instead of the innocent baby?
Murder is a sin. Harming any child is a sin that God will judge. Poor baby, that little innocent baby that is so innocent is murdered because some believe that babies are "fetus's" instead of innocent babies. Shame on you.

At least try to disguise your agenda a little better. We understand the religious zealout's need to browbeat anybody who feels different, but it's still insulting to our intelligence for the ignorant to assume everybody's as oblivious as they are.
