Actually, there is probably some type of chemical imbalance that may be causing this problem. There are meds. that will replace the chemical that you are lacking. Get diagnosed now so that you can go on with your life.
Now, daydreaming is cool to a certain degree. If you do not have to go to work or school, day dream all that you want to. It is better than living in the real world most of the time? A dog can think and day dream all day, as I do and be happy.

Do you realize some of our most intelligent people in history daydreamed?

If what you are daydreaming about is harmful to yourself or others then yes control that and replace it with a better daydream. If what you are daydreaming about is immoral then replace that with moral thoughts. You may not be able to control your dreams at night, but daydreams you do have control over.

Society has labeled this as ADD and now give medication for it to keep ones mind on task. It depends on the severity of your daydreaming whether you need medicine or not. If you cannot function then yes you need medicine. If you are functioning otherwise, I'd say try to learn to control it. (I pick when I'll daydream now that I know i can control it).

Our younger generation, those born after1982 (supposedly, I didn't come up with that date) will daydream even more than those before, and will not think as society has thought for generations. Daydreams are the minds imagination working and imagination creates great things, new inventions, better ways.

Be a daydreamer - it's good for the world.

i'll tell u something, day dreaming is a very healthy thing to do
it gets your anger out somehow(when u day dream about violence), it makes u live a little in a fantasy or a far dream;which makes u a calmer person, but over doing it makes one disfocused , so daydreaming like 1 hour a day is ok, over that is too much
things to do
plan your dreams if they can be realistic and start working on them this takes your dreams from your mind to reality
discuss these dreams with a best friend, share it with him, they could have a psychological meaning, which lets u know more about yourself
try to not to do it, if u r doing something important

You might not be getting enough sleep at night...and your mind wanders during the day. Think of ways to get an interrupted nights rest and the problem will probably go away...although, it could also mean you have a very active imagination and perhaps you could funnel it something creative...and at other times, it might mean you are having trouble with your ability to focus. If it is interfering with your life, then seek out a professional.

I don't think you can, and why would you want to? Is it negatively affecting your life? Many of my best thoughts come in the form of a daydream.

I apologize that I don't know the answer to your question, but good luck getting rid of them, if you're sure that's what you want.
