Yes. They have to fight to create their country like the rest of the nations under the barbarian ottoman rule 200 and 100 years ago.

hawaiian_shorts91 has provided a very informative answer. It isn’t a matter of what is right (a very subjective concept) it is what is practical. The fact is this has been discussed at places such as the United Nations and no matter the justification, Turkey will never allow this to happen. At best the Kurds will get the northern part of Iraq if that country can’t hold together. However, even this option is opposed by Turkey.

You've got your statistics wrong! Half the population isn't Kurdish. 20% is. Who the hell told you that! Let me give you the info.

It's not just part of Turkey which they claim is theirs. They also claim that parts of Iraq, Syria, Armenia, and Iran are theirs (which they call Kurdistan). The Iraqi Kurdistan and Kurdistan Province in Iran are officially acknowleged parts of Kurdistan. However, the Turkish, Syrian and Armenian governments refuse to recognize their Kurdish areas demographically or geographically as a region of their land.

However, the main reason why the Turkish government won't give their land away to the Kurds is because they need oil to keep the economy running smoothly. Without their oil, the Turkish economy would collapse, and all their oil happens to be in Eastern Turkey, the Southeastern made up mostly of that 20% of Kurds. This oil topic actually leads to another Turkish issue. If Turkey recognizes the Armenian genocide, then Northeastern Turkey will be given to the Armenians, meaning that the Turkish economy would be pushed right into the ground! Hopefully none of that will happen, though, and there's proof that the Armenian genocide never happened: http://www.tallarmeniantale.com/

The short answer is 'yes'.
I don't however know enough about the subtleties of the situation, but it seems to me that if a majority of a population wish to be autonomous they should be. Other issues may mean that they need to form alliances in a number of areas , just as Wales and Scotland have not completely ceded from the UK, and as Ireland and the UK have kept special arrangements for work ,trade and travel, etc..
It's got to be better than oppression and violence.

Sounds like a plan. If you could get the Turks to do it and the Kurds to accept it without them trying to gain more and to live and let live it might work but you are talking the middle east and their damn vengeful thinking.

Kurdistan will never happen... Turkey has a fit if anyone even suggests the possibility. We try and establish something like that, no matter how much the Kurds want it, there'll be another damn war - and oil prices go up again.

Why not . Smaller nations have their own land .
But Kurds land should be consists not only from part of Turkey
it must be from north of Iraq & western north of Iran.
That will be fair .

I think that if current borders were broken down, and new countries made for each of the tribes, the middle east would be better off. Thus, your idea sounds like a good plan.

Why are you worring about this? Surely if they were unhappy they would do something about it.
