dogs for me, I am a person who when I am sad I need something to sit beside me when i am upset... or play with, and cats are very independent... they take care of themselves and do their own things, but a dog seems to know when youre upset and when youre happy and excited, and thats what I like about them, they seem to form a tighter bond with their owners...

I prefer dogs hands down! I've owned both and I find dogs are just much more easy going. They're easier to train and you can train them to walk on a leash. I can race them with a local race club. That's something I've never seen with any cat club. I find cats are more volatile and crankier than most dogs I've met and I've been attacked more by cats than I have by a dog. Dogs come in a wider range of personalities than cats do plus not all breeds are yappers. Dogs have a wider range of breed that include personalities, looks, athletic ability and overall charm. Most dogs stay off the tables, the counters and the window sills. Dogs can be taught to use litter boxes. Dogs can eat broccoli for three days without getting sick, unlike cats which are strict carnivores. Dogs are just as much (if not more) fun to play with. They can learn complex tricks, can be taught to retrieve, chase and leap through tons of things. I find they're easier to cuddle with and if you rub their bellies most dogs won't try to take a chunk out of you. Overall you can teach dogs more things. Cats only have four purposes - eat, sleep, poop and claw you. Some cats make decent mousers, but a dog can do that, too.
Don't get me wrong. I love my three cats, but I miss having my dogs.

It is %100 false tha cats are cuter, meaner, or nicer. I have 2 cats and 2 dogs and each have different perosnalities. I like them all, but it is just a matter of opinion. Every animal is different, and has a different personality. My pets have different personalities too.
Lizzie - Mutt - 9 mos.
She is aggressive towards others, but in time, she will get used to you. She does not bite, but growls. She is loyal to me and protects me. She is protective of our home and our other pets. She guards one of our cats like her pup. She is an alpha-female. She is very playful towards other dogs. If she growls and you run, she WILL chase you, but she DOES NOT bit. My friends tell me she is a monster because she is aggressive towards strangers, but I love her.
Zoe - Mutt - 1 yrs.
Zoey is nice, calm, and laid back. She will sleep all day unless we go somewhere. She plays with Lizzie 1/4 of the day. She never runs away, unlike Lizzie, who jumps a 10ft wooden fence. She is a totally different breed than Lizzie, but looks like her, only a different size and color. They are both Shepherd mixes. Zoey will not bark at strangers. She will just lick them to death.
Charles William - Orange Tabby - 1 1/2 yrs.
Charles has a unique name. He was named by my grandmother before she passed away. I call him Lil' Willy, but everyone else calls him; C. Dub, Charlie, Willy, or Charles. He is a BIG BABY, but, he's my big baby. He squirms and hides when other people hold him, but when I hold him, he just purrs and goes to sleep. I think he is my Christmas miracle. Around Christmas, I went to my former horse barn and saw a little orange kitten curled up in the hay bale. You could see every bone, and he was almost brown with fleas. I gave him a flea bath, fattened him up, neurted, love, and now he is a healthy cat. I love that cat.
Diamond - Persian mix - 5 yrs.
Diamond is only described by one word: DIVA! She is very commanding. She has a couple people that she very much dislikes. My mom's friends. When they come over, she hisses and gives them a warning look. She needs fresh food in the morning or she won't eat (although if she starved herself, she would last a couple months...14 lbs.) If she doesn't have fresh water, she drinks from the bathtub or sink. If her litterbox insn't changed, she will go in a closet. She won't eat any table food, unlike charles, she refuses to eat cat treats, wet food, or cat nip. She will only wat Friskees Cat Chow. If we put more food over that, she will pick out the cat chow. My mom's friend, Andy, didn't have time for her, so he gave her to us. She is a handful, and she repays us by showing no affection and laying around all day. She seems to have no feeling. When I go away, Charles walkes all over my room, meowing, her, she just sleeps.

cats,
because u dont have 2 take them 4 a walk every mornin @ 5 pm
they dont cost as much as dogs
you dont have to worry about where they are all the time because they find their own way home
and finally they are all round easier to look after

Dogs. For their loyalty, intelligent, security, play mate, obedient, and looks. Thumbs up.
Cats. Stray to others house and make a nuisance to others gardens and just lazing around. Just furry ball without any achievement. Thumbs down.

Cats most definitely. They are lots quieter (no barking)l easier to keep ( you don't have to let them out every few hours to keep them from pottying on your floors,), they don't drool & slobber on you to show their affection, their love does have some conditions so you are accountable, they tend to be cleaner & their is nothing like a good head butt & a purr!

i like both but its dogs i love the best!
because they play rough, they can perform more tricks (not that cats cant), they run fast, leash adaptable, i can take it to many places with me like the beach or a park, they don't scratch, less maintenance (it depends) they love to cuddle, you can leave them alone (it depends on how you train it), and they can sense your feelings like if your sad my dog usually cheers me up but sitting beside me and licking my face. that's why i like dogs better (they are freakin' cute!)
