New homeowner/used home/3toilets all w/ serious hard water mineral build-up at water line. Everyday, regular toilet bowl cleaners are an exercise in futility & the Clorox tablets in the water tanks have made no difference. Please share your experience.

There's a product called CLR.If you can, remove some of the water from the bowl to reveal the stain.Spray on the CLR and leave it for a few minutes.Use the scrubby side of a scrubby sponge and scrub away the stain.Unfortunately the stain will return to the scene of the crime in a few days, but the same proceedure will remove it every time.Hard water is hard water, and the problem is imminent.

You'd be amazed how much you can get off if you throw in some cola and leave it for a while- I tried 1 litre left for an hour and only had to use a normal toilet brush to get most of the deposit off. After that use a pumice stone or footfile (kept specifically for this use!) to gently scrub away the rest without damaging the toilet itself.

I tried this toilet stuff that suppose to burn the ring off ... find it at Home depot or Lowe's cleaning isles not a spray it is basically made with hydrochloric acid .. you flush the toilet when the water level is low .. turn the water off to the toilet then pour the stuff in the bowl , gotta wear gloves .. dont get in your eye ! worked great on one toilet not so great on the other.
If that doesn't work your just living with that ring ...or buying a new toilet

try using Bowl Brite,.. I find it at my local grocery store - but haven't found it anywhere else.. you can try looking it up on the net. It works wonders, pour it in, leave it for a bit then use your toilet brush to lightly scrub. It works very well.

Try vinegar. It might help. If it doesn't try baking soda.
