I believe this is a legitimate question. It has to do with food culture and race perception. I studied with a professor whose area of expertise was this very subject. The stereotype was reinforced through drawings and other images of black people eating fried chicken or even chasing chicken. Since KFC is just the modern equivalent, it's not hard to make that jump.
Also, remember that many black people live in or come from families that originally came from the south. As a white friend pointed out to me, eating fried chicken at family gatherings is a southern thing, through and through.

I don't know about black people but alot of people where I live equate KFC with Natives...and it is true because if you go to KFC in my town 9 out of 10 people in there are Native ojibway people every day...Not that that is bad because there are more natives around here so it stands to reason there are nore in KFC and there are many white people who go there to. I have never seen a black person in KFC because there are only 2 black people who live in my town, the one guy teaches at the school. Anyway I usually dont equate KFC with anybody but obese people, very rarely do I see someone under 200lbs in KFC so........ Thats what I think of when I think KFC...greasy overweight people of all colours.

It has been a racial stereotype for years. But since KFC is pretty good, black people just pig out on chicken and laugh. Everybody eats KFC so who cares? Oh yeah, but with this bird flu thing coming, beef looks a lot better.

Well think about it in Haiti they ate chicken and used Chicken in there ceremonies plus when they were slaves that's about all they were allowed to eat. But modern day it seems that everytime you go to a taco bell / KFC it seems to be mostly black people working there and eating there.

Black people often hold lower paying jobs. Not only is chicken cheap but many of them work in places that cook chicken. Or, it could be the old stereotype about black folks eating fried chicken and watermelon.

Fried chicken is associtated with the black culture becouse it beagn there.
As a sonthern dish, served in lower income homes as sunday dinner and BBQ/picnic food. Many black families served fried chickedn becouse it was simple, cheep, filling, and lasted several days. Poor white families at it as well. But black people saw it as a main part of ther culture.
The sterotype sticks, even when it's now a white favorite and main part of "mainstream" society.

What a complete idiotic question you obviously are ignorant and can do nothing more than follow the path of bad parenting if you are asking questions of this nature.
P.S. I have a African American friend who doesn't like fried chicken, and prefers apples as opposed to watermelon or bananas, and at 6'1 245lbs he would mop the floor with that greasy mop under your cowboy hat.

Racism based on feeling so insecure about yourself that the only possible way that you can feel worthwhile is to denigrate someone else. It's nice that all of those people died in the Civil War so that you and I could be part of the same country, isn't it?
