You can work all the hours you want, if you are an American Citizen. But they have to pay overtime pay for more than 40 hours in each business you work for in most states. On the west coast, Wa, Or, Ca it't time and a half. This does apply to management people also, unless they have a portion of ownership of the business. I'm not sure what state you are referring to, but you can contact your local court clerk, and he/she will direct you to the person to ask in your state. Ron

Normally 8 hours is max. Anything after that is mandatory PAID overtime.
